This week, MalLabel Music is stoked to once again bring you the dopest in rising talent and welcoming a new Bass Music heavyweight to the MalLabel family. Fresh from out of the woodworks, please welcome California's Hollis.
Just introduced to us at the tail end of 2015 with a moving Trap remix of Psi-Fi's 'You Lift Me Up', Hollis has already come back at us with an absurdly diverse quartet of weirdo bass experiences. With such serious original sounds to be heard from this EP it's no wonder he's already been booked at next level festivals such as Enchanted Forest Gathering and it won't be long before you see this man spread across the country like a virus, because there is no stopping a sound that has quite simply got to be heard.
His creations of experimental Trappery under the guise of the Shredder EP has all the moods to bump a dance floor just right from the feel-good fun to the deep, dank hood all while that 808 rattles windows straight down the block. The title track picks it up right off the bat with some atmospherics warming up the place before at least 4 different basses wreck the joint; there's even some shattering glass to prove it. This leads in to the glitchiest of the bunch, 'Check Mate' with accompanying warm vibes to contrast those blips in the dark. 'Spill The Beanz' gets bouncy with the R&B feels in vocal stabs riding a synthed out party alarm, which brings us straight into the hood with the ass bouncin' madness of 'On Fleek' featuring JustLuv with the vocals to drive this EP home. Getcha bounce on!
