about

This week MalLabel Music is going abroad again to bring you a some of that deep, driving, electro Tech House as they know how to do just right in Germany as Berlin's, Mark Ellis shows us a little bit of how the get down goes deeper in the unknown.

From the innocent age of four, Mark Ellis has been playing a host of instruments a child of that age wouldn't have arms long enough for. Too inspired by the world around him to give up these tools he only continued to make sense of his reality through the sounds created by his ever expanding arsenal of instruments. At only 16 years old he had already begun producing his own electronic music and soon was playing it around Los Angeles and later the rest of the US and a many international destinations under the name 'Thomas Crown.' His mastery of representing reality through sound has now earned him his second opportunity to score a motion picture after moving to Berlin post university graduation.

His latest EP, Reality Blind is a sonic expedition through his experiences in real time as he spent nine months living in a place called Ha Noi, Vietnam. The title is a representation of the complete disconnection from any world outside that you once knew while living in a place like Ha Noi and the challenges of returning to what was once normal. In a place where everything feels like a time bomb endlessly clicking over to 0:00, but never actually going off, the inspirations that called his attention in a place of such chaos couldn't be ignored and through these feelings manifested this EP. Enjoy your trip.
