about

MalLabel Music is stoked this week to be able to bring you more live band electronic music, this time in the form of an all original album from San Francisco's NVO.

This trio has been busy since our March release now totalling 4 EPs and an LP amongst remixes to and from some of electronica's heavy hitters including My Pet Monster and Mochipet. The dedication to their craft has taken them to new heights and learning experiences including the creation of two tracks from this EP in one of the state-of-the-art recording environments over at Zoo Labs Oakland as part of their 'Music Acceleration' residency program. Investing heavily in musical exploration and creativity while challenging conventional expectations of composition drives these three to push the boundaries of innovative design to a visionary new elevation.

Their new EP, Night Vision Odyssey is an energetic cruise through genre and feeling opening up strong with 'Burnin' a warm Progressive/Electro banger definitely setting the dial to 'Party'. 'Desert Gothic' sustains the flow in a rolling Progressive number featuring a driving guitar solo taking this Steampunk journey cascading across sand dunes and sky. Recorded in full at Zoo Labs, 'Sidewalks' makes use of the recording space to orchestral proportions bringing a full Big Band groove while adding some electronic Mid-Tempo flavor. Next, 'Sundrenched' takes it slow and synthy over warm keys and arpeggio, bringing us to a place rich with dynamic, elightened tones and tasteful sonic manipulations in the beautiful 'Reforestation'. Closing off the EP is the second track taking advantage of their Zoo Labs residency with a sultry sweet drive through the twilight hours entitled, 'Midnight Pulse'. Something different and ever changing from end to end, this is one EP not to miss and a group we are sure to be keeping track of.
