about

This week MalLabel Music is trouncing through some deep underground vibes as Santa Cruz, California's, So$ay shakes the foundations of the hood 'til there's nothing left, but torn sneakers bouncing in the rubble.

So$ay is a low end bass machine breaking in the Hip-Hop of his roots with the cutting edge stylization and production techniques hitting up the biggest sound systems in the world today. The hood always shines through bright and clear in the multitude of genre bending creations he has dedicated his time to creating. His desire to bring out the richest in low key vibes brought up by the bigger bass techniques we've come to expect in Trap has created a unique Hyphy/Glitch experience with hints of Purple.

Opening up the EP we've got 'Binary Crook' trippin' us up with micro vocal cuts and rollin' synth work before 'Time Travels' gets dark in the business with some manipulated strings and creep show atmospheres. 'Mercury Summer' takes a bouncy ass Florida Breakbeat through the ringer as the temperature rises while BoneYard chills it out right with all the right atmospheric vibes to get rollin' to. Next we got 'Steel Cut Beats' setting in to the darkness with tripped out synth cuts over bells and basslines and finally, 'CrimeSide' rumbles out the EP with angelic feels that bounce to an eerie psychedelic circus and back before sliding out smooth. Some major diversity in this hood rich package for Bass and Hip-Hop lovers alike.
