about

This week MalLabel Music is stoked to bring you another fat stack of yet to be underground Bass Music as Miami, Florida's SomeJerk takes us through a time warp to the future of experimental bass with his new full length album.

SomeJerk is not exactly friendly when it comes to genres, timing, or any kind of standard sound design. With a screw it all, but the vibe I'm hittin' right now attitude his tunes tend to cut their own way through the already rich and experimental world of Bass Music. These creative sound discovery ideas prevalent in the world of IDM joining forces with fat stacks of subwoofers is creating an IBM or Intelligent Bass Music movement set to bring you to rather outlandish places and back. Well, maybe back. Music like this is just as likely to leave your mind happily stranded with a new way of looking at things.

His new full length album, Distorted Future, has a little bit of everything and a whole lot of style from the crushing bass falls of the title track opening to the ripping Purple leads riding Hyphy vibes in 'Search and Destroy'. In between the album takes us through some Footwork riddim, vibe rich experimental electronic Jazz, Aphex Twin like Trap business, hyper glitched out machine bass, feedback manipulating ambient Dubstep, gorgeous Trip- Hop, Ghetto-Juke, trip machines, and glitched out Hip-Hop scratchin' vibes. And frankly those are just my best attempts to classify any of it. If you are looking for a fresh take on new bass, or 11, you've hit the jackpot with this beast of creativity. Get it in ya.
