This week MalLabel Music is bringing you some music from the deep blue with some Future Crunk washing up on the shores of a new EP by Detroit, Michigan's Ancient Mermaids.

Already touring across the US and hitting up the big fonts at the top of some of this years summer festivals, the duo has been making waves with their signature sound they like to call, “Sea Crunk”. Since Los Angeles' Pablo Morris and Detroit's Ian Brogan started putting their beats together in 2012 they have pervaded the blog-o-sphere from the Hype Machine to finalizing in TheUntz.com festival challenge 2015 and their tide continues come in. Having the pleasure to bring you their debut EP, MalLabel will be following these sultans of the sea to dance floors all summer long and we recommend you join us.

Bringing a variety of sultry sounds with it, Crystal Island blends the rolling deeps with some crashing waves. Starting off with 'Catlantis', the EP open with a decidedly Vaporwave vibe rolling over Glitchy vocal manipulations and a fat 808 sub. Channeling down to 'Creek Life' we get steamrolled in Purple in an upbeat beauty of sound design ideas as 'Washed Ashore' gets a little more deliberate with the beats in a gamified psychedelia of bounce by the ounce with some sexy vocal cuts. Finally, the title track is a seductive feel good tune of bold synths riding on the goods and some fat Glitch-Hop bass cuts in between. Let the mythical rhythms of these sound odysseys wash over you as you sink in the crystal sands.
