about

MalLabel Music celebrates another release, this time from one of the baddest bitches on the label. Lotus Drops, the self proclaimed “Goddess of Womp,” creates sound that’s beautiful, yet gritty: a complex paradox that could only be done by a alchemist of music. Her new album, ‘Cosmic Roots,’ is a futuristic venture paired with haunting vocals, riveting drumbeats, and of course, pure goddess womp.

“Cosmic Roots” captures Lotus Drops’ essence perfectly, deliciously seductive while heavy on the sub section. Taking you on an eclectic journey, the sultry siren paints a vivid picture over the eastern tinged with dubstep sounds. She weaves a massive energy into every track that is heightened with floor spine tingling bass. Staying true to her dubbed out, over-the-top roots, Lotus Drops incorporates aspects of future bass; lots of synthesizers and drums, all while maintaining her classic style. She’s learned the perfect fusion between rolling bass and softness, allowing the album to sound both dark and light.

The ten tracks take you on a psychedelic trip with harmonious compositions and mysterious undertones, the perfect fusion of elegant and edgy, much like Lotus herself. With ethereal vocals from songstresses MANDA, Swoonz, and Lotus Drops, layered with an intricate orchestration, “Cosmic Roots” will cast a spell over all who listen.
