about

Zeno – This forward thinking producer from Denver, CO is influenced by the funk of house music, the step of drum and bass and the “boom” of dubstep. No doubt, Zeno has developed an unmistakable sound that is uniquely his own. By blending thick bass lines, hyphy synths and magnetic rhythms, Zeno’s spectral tunes are not limited by the confines of a single genre and can vary infinitely within the bass continuum. His multidimensional beats are designed to shake the universe and rock your mind while the dancefloor ascends into orbit. Zeno has ventured into collaborations with other future-bass artists including Stagga, Chewie, Dirt Monkey and The Widdler and has received support from notable DJs like Starkey, DJ Wonder and Shiba.

In this this new full length album, he has taken his music even further into the reaches of the future. Funky overdriven leads are keenly contained with a dub minded sensibility, keeping the overall tone hyphey yet intelligent. Ambient arps lift the vibe up into outer space while dark pads and reverbs take it into a deep cavernous abyss. The clever use of mysterious sci-fi effects pays homage to the tape delay work of the original dub masters, keeping this futuristic production tied to its roots. Zeno’s well crafted synthwork snarls and growls aggressively, yet remains skillfully contained, attacking like a well trained robot tiger. Glitched out and diced up riddims wisely tie all these layers together into mind bending knots that unfurl into a boiling sea of psychedelic fury. Top it off with a searing d&b remix from Dirt Monkey, and Concentric has effectively launched a highly advanced satellite into the glitch and bass galaxy.
