about

Soar to meet your full potential with MalLabels newest release. St. Louis' intellectual Trap star Blaze Luminous rocks our imagination with some dance floor soul.

Ascension bridges the gap between that old school, soulful Hip-Hop sound and the absolute freshest in Trap vibes. Dynamics from this unique EP range from the bounciest in tripped out ghetto beats to acoustic harmonies that grip you 'til you can do nothing but sway and let the sounds wash over you. Ascension is as graceful as it is driving with a well processed 808 ringing through the heart of the low end urging you to dance with each exquisite symphony. The accompanying composite of swirling arpeggios, stuttering effects and deep conversations between melodies of various creative synth designs makes refreshing use of the space that the Trap paradigm provides.

The title track opens the EP to an energetic start with drops of supersaws and celestial arps as 'Tao' moves us quickly into a bassy concoction of psychedelic beats from the hood. 'HeirBorn' is a stunning arrangement of feel good Hip-Hop samples that take you on a trip through the rabbit hole as 'Danger' promises no escape with a twisted, asian instrumental atmosphere. Finally 'Revel' is a reflective and immensely deep excursion into the subconscious through a convulsing low end, transformed bells and well placed pads.
