about

MalLabel Music is bringing some hot new talent from our neighbors up North. From the island city of Victoria, BC, WERK is going to show you how they get dank in the Canadian West Coast.Doom, gloom and a whole lot o' BOOM. This is what you're gonna get when monsoon season locks your premier trap stars in the lab for a few months... and that's just fine with us.

WERK's new EP A Late Supper is a testament to the time spent cultivating the right collection of works to get that vibe just right. This ominous cohesion of Ghetto Trap and classic sampling is a feast of sinister beats and eerie rhythms. The time taken to breed this unbroken strange throughout the EP is apparent as you sink deeper and deeper into this hair-raising collection of hood-rich, nightmares.'Bound 3' takes you straight into the twilight zone with some twisted bell distortions 'til the beat kicks and the grime takes the reins. 'A Late Supper' picks it up and up again with some double time 808 business laid out to some ghetto-phat, arpeggiated, hype sauce. Creepshow incoming as some old school haunted radio show vocals lead the way to some tripping fields of menace in 'Plan 9'. 'Slow Saw' might just have the best choice in sample for an electronic music tune ever, over some fat beats of course and finally 'Throw Up Your P's and Q's' finishes off the bunch with some... style tips. Get ya birfday suits & git nasty!
