about

TThis week MalLabel Music has got some wonky, weirdo bass and straight ghetto beats comin' atcha from Made in Glitch's main man, Bass Science.

After pushing Glitch-Hop through Japan's underground for a while, Bass Science has been kickin' it in Cali investigating West Coast bass phenomena and systematically integrating the practical aspects into his usual intellectual experimentation. Flipping through genres like a magazine, he's given us everything from Glitch and Hip-Hop to Future Bass and Dub since his coastal emergence and he doesn't seem to be slowing down. Rockin' that 808 hard as usual and dropping some science on the Trap game, our man MattB is paying homage to his West Coast crew with a bunch of phat new Ghetto-Bass tunes in this six track EP, Homies.

The opening track 'Drop it Heavy ft. Essential I' is a well placed synthy, feel good tune to set the mood and 'Jump Up' keeps it playful and bouncy over some dark chirpy vocal manipulations. 'Neon City ft. Headphone Activist' gets a little more introspective with chill arpeggiations and a sly rolling pad while 'Smoke Up ft. Boac Jackson' takes the pad and drops some dank on it with some tripped out Future Bass. The Pads come back with beauty with 'Deep Love' right before it's tribal rhythms start kickin', carrying you to the sexy and upbeat 'Broken Hearts ft. Dev79' taking this EP all the way home to the bedroom. Yum <3
